Session readings:
Reviews fundamental aspects of neonatal mortality and morbidity. Topics include burden and causes of neonatal deaths (from a clinical, social, health systems perspective), neonatal complications, neonatal deaths measurement and key elements of essential newborn care. Discusses progress in the reduction of neonatal mortality and morbidity: current strategies believed to be effective and/or review of previous strategies. Different types of interventions and approaches aimed at reducing neonatal morbidity and mortality within specific contexts.
