Jennifer Requejo

Dr. Jennifer Harris Requejo is the Technical Deputy Director of Countdown to 2030, and an Associate Scientist at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. As a faculty member at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Dr. Requejo’s work focuses on monitoring and evaluation, and reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health and nutrition.


She is also a member of the Independent Expert Group for the Global Nutrition Report, and a member of the Steering Committee for phase two of the Ending Preventable Maternal Mortality initiative. She previously served as a Senior Technical Officer at the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health hosted by the World Health Organization. In that capacity, she managed the Countdown to 2015 initiative that tracked progress in the 75 countries where more than 95% of all maternal and child deaths occur and annually produced country profiles, reports and other publications to be used by all stakeholders – internationally and at the country level – to advocate for action on reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health and nutrition. She also worked as a consultant to the Department of Reproductive Health and Research at the World Health Organization from 2006-2012.
