share page

The workshop has been designed for mid-career professionals and decision-makers from low and middle income countries* with the highest burden of maternal and newborn mortality, with proven experience in RMNCH, and current responsibilities in the health sector (i.e. programme managers, policy makers in relevant fields, programme officers of NGOs or UN agencies, among others) that have the potential to promote/lead changes in the countries where they work. It is expected that at least 75% of participants should fall under this profile. Members of international academic, non-governmental or research institutions with a track record in maternal and neonatal health may also be considered.

Participants’ Selection Process

Every candidate for the workshop will have a nominator (e.g. workshop director, faculty, previous participant, invited nominators from related organizations, donor…). Potential participants will submit their CV and will fill out an online application, which will be reviewed by a committee composed by the workshop organizers/faculty.

Estimated number of participants: 25-35

Registration Fees

Invited participants from high mortality burden countries will be fully sponsored. Their registration fees, travel and lodging costs and all other workshop-related activities will be covered by the workshop.

*Nationals from any of the so-called Countdown to 2015 countries: i.e. the 75 countries where more of than 95% of all maternal and child deaths occur, including the 49 lowest-income countries.
