Rhonda Breit

Former lawyer and journalist, Professor Rhonda Breit, LLB, PhD joined AKU-GSMC in December 2014, as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, responsible for developing and overseeing the school’s academic programs and research. She is currently steering the accreditation of GSMC’s Masters in Digital Journalism.

Author of Professional Communication: Legal and Ethical Issues, Rhonda has researched and published extensively in the areas of media law and ethics and journalism education. She has a special interest in de-westernization of academic curricula.

She has been Vice-President Research of the Journalism Education Association Australia (2009-2013) and spearheaded a national discipline standards project for Journalism, Media and Communications in Australia. Prior to joining AKU-GSMC, Rhonda headed the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Queensland, in Brisbane, Australia.
