Maternal Health Clinical Officer Partners in Health
Emily Bearse is a Certified Nurse Midwife working for Partners in Health (PIH), Sierra Leone as a Maternal Health Clinical Officer.
In her work with PIH, she supports maternal and newborn health efforts at the government district hospital and a PIH community health center by providing clinical mentorship to healthcare workers, organizing and facilitating trainings for health workers focused on reducing maternal and newborn mortality, providing direct clinical care, and offering guidance and support to PIH and Ministry of Health and Sanitation leadership on maternal health initiatives and programs. Before joining PIH, she worked as a Certified Nurse Midwife in Concord, MA and has worked in project coordination and technical advising on maternal health projects in Malawi as a Global Health Corps Fellow with the Clinton Health Access Initiative and in Zambia with the Center for International Health and Development. She earned my Master’s of Science degree in Nursing specializing in Nurse-Midwifery from Emory University and a Master’s of Public Health degree with a concentration in International Health from Boston University.
